About

IMG_1648

During the day, I work as a creative director and writer.

After hours, I’m a foodie through and through, especially when it comes to vegetables. After realizing that produce in North Texas wasn’t really up to my ultra discriminating Californian-Torontonian palate, I decided to sow a big old urban farm in 2012. Despite erratic weather, upside down growing seasons, the heat, and icky pests, I’m completely hooked.

I keep saying that I’m going to sew but the fancy sewing machine purchased in 2013 isn’t getting much use. Hopefully that will change very soon.

Most days I write about the trials and tribulations of a kitchen garden.

Other days I write about whatever strikes my fancy.

So, follow me and see what happens next.

PS: Sometimes, I won’t write at all, but my partner in life and all these adventures Bruce Morrice will take the helm.

  1. I am really loving your blog. So I am sharing the wealth with you. The other day a fellow blogger nominated me for The Reality Blog Award. I’m sharing it with you. I know your blog is new, but it’s great. I’m writing about it tomorrow (Saturday). There are no ‘rules’ per say, but there are some questions. I don’t think you absolutely have to answer them, but they’re fun. Keep posting.

    • Aw! Fransi, you have no idea how much that means to me. Especially today when I really had a hard time focusing/thinking/writing coherently. Seriously. You really inspired me to get started — the proverbial kick in the pants I needed. And I’m really glad Mimi shared the link to your blog with me. You’re one of the CDs I always hoped to learn from, so in a way, I’m getting my wish long distance! Thank you so much. And yes, I will play by the rules and answer the questions the best that I can.

      • Oh, I never knew it was Mimi who ‘introduced’ us. I always thought you just stumbled upon me. Love Mimi. Very talented, wonderful human being. Were you ever partners? You would have been a terrific team, I think.

      • Mimi and I were partners at Ogilvy. She is amazing and always inspired me to do better, work harder. I loved working with her–we had so much fun and played off each other so well.
